In the Winter of 2021, during Covid Lock Down 3, Julian put his MT350 in for MOT which passed but was advised to replace the chain.
BOF was moving and needed somewhere for a Bike table ramp to live, so Julian offered his garage and was then able to do some work on his MT.
Wheels were removed, needing new tyres - he ordered Metzeler Tourance repalcements and had them fitted by GTC.
Chain was removed and on inspection both sprockets needed to be replaced and the chain guide, so parts were ordered from Force Motorcycles (specialist in MT bikes)
The bike was thoroughly cleaned, more parts removed, oil and filter changed, fork oil replaced and some of the engine casings re-sprayed.
The exhause system was removed, rust removed by wrapping the pipes in vinegar soaked cloths, then cleaned, resprayed and new engine fittings ordered from Sportax Racing (another specialist in Rotax engines)
The fuel tank was removed and found to be full of crud and rust from an ageing metal tank (1995) so after some interweb searching Julian setup some exlectrolisis to clean the tank with a nail positively charged. After the tank was cleaned and then treated with a tank sealer called Splosh
To give a slightly new look to the MT, Julian decided to spray the Military Registration on the tank with the Harley logo.
The carb needed a couple of new seals as it was leaking, new tank tap and some drain off pipes
Various fittings, nuts, bolts and washers were replaced during the work, toolbox sourced and the panniers and gun box were removed for the moment.
